About Shadow Mirrors
AU Background:
Mostly covered here. Tied with Kyousuke and Excellen's apps.
The Shadow Mirrors are a special forces group of the Kingdom of Britain, but very few people known about it due to it being in a parallel realm. A dark realm, where the Shadow Mirrors scatter war in order to increase their combat ability against the evolved Rift. One of the commanding officers of the Mirrors is Almer, who grew up as an orphan loving machines in a Dalweth forest village. He says he could only remember fleeing from a Rift invasion, and waking up surrounded by the body of his dead father and the remains of his machine. When he was older, he joined Britain's military to become a knight. During service, he became a close friend with Kyousuke Nanbu, who he nicknamed "Beowulf" for his feats and courage in battle. They were also rivals, and the nickname was Axel's compliment for Kyousuke being able to fight on par with him.
However, their relations began to deteriorate when Kyousuke began to display a strange behavior while fighting the Rift. A few times Axel would scold his behavior. At one time, Axel put Kyou in jail and even suggested his demotion. Eventually, Kyou went out of control and infected his squad "The Beowulves", causing chaos. This is when the grudge starts.
Proving his ability, Axel was selected by Commander Vindel Mauser to join the Shadow Mirrors. He would become very ambitious about holding back the progressing Rift forces, and stopping Beowulf's plan in ruling the world. Axel met Beowulf/Einst Kyousuke again while on an operation to jump to another realm. After seeing the destruction of some of his squad, Axel personally duels Beowulf to allow the rest of them to retreat into the other realm. So far, Axel hasn't had much luck with each fight against Beowulf.
Personality: Axel is a mix of his versions from Advance and the OG series. On one side he is a silly casanova and partier, and on another side, he is a noble demon devoted to the Shadow Mirrors cause. The latter side shows a strong sense of military honor, to the point that he can end up being a Large Ham.
His home realm plagued by the Rift has established a spirit that is passionate about perseverance, especially for the human race. While he can be calm, Axel is known for his strong and serious side.
Trust and valor is very important to Axel. As an military officer, Axel takes pride in retaining the moral of his colleagues and supervising them so that they can be in tip top shape. He is not above issuing strict orders and punishments, yelling at them, hitting and grabbing, etc. However, he forms a bond with them quickly. Axel will protect soldiers with his life, and expects the same display of valor from them in return. In addition, Axel is also strict about military protocol. He's keen on one being properly dressed, on their postures and way of speaking, and will correct a person promptly if he sees something out of order (ie: "THAT'S Colonel ALMER!" "Why isn't your leg straight?!" "I told you to knock!"). This may end up humorous because even when off duty, this still tends to show. Also, he doesn't like gaudy clothing.
Axel grew up a "little xenophobic" because of encounters with dangerous monsters from the Lerrian border, and also with The Rift and Beowulf. Aside from them being different, Axel doesn't like to see non-humans feel that they can stand above others, or mock them, if they naturally possess something strong or mystical. Axel's hatred against Einst Beowulf/Kyousuke Nanbu and his wish to destroy and recreate the world further enforces this feeling.
Aside from his demonic reputation, Axel sometimes puts up a romantic gentlemanly act in front of beautiful woman, as if the rough and tough side of him was never there. This, and how he is easily absorbed by flattery (and how he acts awkward after he regains his focus from that flattery), curses him with the nickname "Silly Axel". He is also more happily enthusiastic and clumsy in his "silly side". Axel disdains the name and will immediately chastise those who say it. He won't show it but deep inside Axel sometimes enjoys the teasing because it seems to form a comradeship, especially during harsh times that he has been living in.

When not in a machine, Axel is a jujutsu instructor, thus is proficient in close range combat. He utilizes a pair of customized tonfa with blades naming them "Mizuichi". Axel is quick with all four limbs and bold enough to rush towards the enemy, attacking with a never-pull-punches type of menace. Rumors say that while he runs, he can make the wind move around his blade tonfa to give him extra cutting power. Aside from in-fighting, Axel is good at shooting and carries a semi-automatic rifle with him.

Primary Role: Engineer - Colonel (Shadow Mirrors) / Mercenary (other factions)
Soldier or Siege Company: Dark Knight Squad - One of the various Shadow Mirror units. They serve Officer Axel using mostly mid-long range mobile vehicles.
1.) Randgrith: Mass produced long-range heavy assault. Missile pod and assault back cannon.
2.) Reginleif: Red Commander Randgrith. Has missle pods, heavy armor, and heavy cannon. Mostly used by Axel and other company leaders.
3.) Mass Produced Ash Saber: Mid battle green unit. Uses a small gun and a twin blade sword. Axel occasionally drives it.

Artifacts: SoulGain. A proposed crystal-powered Armor (mech term?)Guymelf that's in the works. Visually, it may resemble an "animated golem". It'll work similar to its SRW counterpart with extendable elbow blades (like Guyver). The crystals will respond to Axel's movements and strengthen in physical power and speed from his willpower. Projectiles and attack aura are from magical energy.
Setting Considerations: Mainly covered through Kyousuke and Excellen's profiles, and plot comm. The Shadow Mirrors army is from parallel dimension. They mostly retain their goal from OG-verse, and will be jumping from faction to faction as mercenaries to collect anything that'll help them strengthen their forces. Also, The Einst are from the Rift.

A.) Depends on the circumstances. If not resting, I would prepare for the next move by keeping in mind of my possessions. Machines require a bit of maintenance to be effective. In addition, soldiers need to ready their bodies and minds to use the weapons. If they're rookies, that's fundamental. Also, keeping watch is a good plan.
